Thanks for visiting!
I've been writing since I was a kid. It is something I've always done. When I don't write, I get cranky. Ask my husband. Sometimes he begs me to retreat to our home office and go write.
My mom likes to tell the story of how I used to "read" to my stuffed animals when I was three years old. They were my first captive audience. I would pick up a copy of my father's Consumer Reports magazine and pretend to read from it. All the while I was really making up stories and telling these to Honey Bunny, Hedgehog, and Tiger Face. I sometimes wish I was born in the age of the smart phone because I would have loved to have recorded those moments to see what types of stories I liked to tell as a three year old. I'm sure there were frogs, sled rides, and Cheerios involved.
When I got a little older, this penchant for storytelling became a bit dangerous, as I used to make up huge white lies to friends and family. I think they have mostly forgiven me. Eventually, I learned to channel this into my writing. Most everything I say now is true. Well, nearly.
My children's book, "Laloo the Red Panda" is published by Xist and available as a Kindle e-book or paperback. I am currently hard at work on a YA dark fantasy novel. I've also been writing a lot of poetry, some of which, I've shared on this site.
I live in the beautiful city of Seattle, WA. When not writing, I work at Electronic Arts, a gaming company.
I'm a born adventurer. I can't stay put for very long before the call to adventure drags me out to the furthest corners of the Earth. I wrote the first draft of the novel I'm working on while on a five month trip to India, Southeast Asia and New Zealand.
Below is a picture of me on a recent trip to Manila. The helmet was for protection for a boat ride under the waterfall in the background. This was before I got totally soaked!
